What a day
i started off early with spoonboy on his way up to meet me at the garage for a front sump guard to be fitted
before we went to meet roadrottie & roger at mcdonalds for our usual 0815 meet up

we feasted upon many items available from the huge menu
i just went for everything   laugh laugh

we then departed and went towards saltash and all the lanes cornwall side
so many to choose from for nev but he wanted to do some nice tough lanes   Shocked
yes mate bring it on   Grin Grin Grin

so off we trot with nevnav guiding me through the lanes

nev had to be branded with the L for left and R for right on his hands

this is nev our gate opener for the day   laugh

[

oh no more causualties already   Shocked Shocked

we took a drive down to view the river crossing at lamerhooe

by now roadrottie was banging on about lets use the kinetic rope
so we went to the best lane that i know for this
where its easy to get bottomed out
perfect  Grin Grin

so we chucked spoonboy in with a slow speed till he got stuck   Wink Wink

then the kinetic rope was attached to the vehicles useing shackles

we had a couple of goes at this so they could get the hang of it    Grin Grin

im sure there were surprised with how easy they are to use

nev saw this old car pull out and said follow that car   Shocked
so i did

it was a real minter

we decided to peel off the pursuite and head for this river crossing

i was deciding whether to deploy my armbands just in case of flooding   laugh laugh

it was all good we had survived the huge current without any dramas   laugh laugh

just up the road we met this chap ear he says have you been down there in that river   Shocked

yes we replied    Grin Grin

you are mad he says proper deep that is   laugh laugh laugh

then soon he was telling us about his reliant tray back   Wink Wink

a real minter 850cc engine with a modified back axle he says it flies at 60mph   laugh laugh

top bloke he was very funny

we stopped for some burgers at trago mills
then soon found ourselves down at panters bridge   Grin Grin

where we decided to check out the bottom as its had a lot of rain wash down over the past few months
and as expected it was awesome
i said to nev what do you think and he replied i dont know
thats good enough for me
so in we got and had a go upwards   Shocked Shocked
yes the old shogun got up the first step easily enough but then i had a couple of goes to get it up the rest of the way
without to much trouble    Wink Wink

spoonboy gave it several attempts to get up but just got stuck on the same place time after time
he didnt want to give up but we called it a day because we didnt want to break the pajero
roadrottie also gave it a few goes but with the long wheelbase it was slightly longer and a defo disadvantage
so with me up the slope they decided to drive round to meet me at the top of the lane
to where we decided we will all go back down   Grin Grin
on our way down roadrottie had the engine cut out and would not re start  Shocked Shocked
so he had to go all the way down without the power steering and brakes fully working    Shocked Shocked
not something i would want to do
top job

on inspection i found a fuse which looked ok but different from the others
it had blown right on the edge
but did look ok
so with it being a wierd blue fuse mitsubishi one
the only thing we could do was to put another fuse on the top of the old one which was held in place with an elastic band
we turned the key and the beast fired back into action

the fuse worked all the way back to plymouth   Wink Wink

bear grilles eat your heart out

this was the last picture i took but i have got the upwards footage on video and will load tomorrow for you all

we did manage to get into trago before they shut to get some more fuses just in case our modification blew
at least we would have a spare one

big thanks to all that came out today a few un expected lanes from nev nav
but hey ho he needs the practise

till the next adventure

Indeed a very good day,  looking forward to seeing the down lane video....
Just to declare I did this with the engine off, due to a fuse....
I rolled down with minimal brakes and no power steering.....hard work wasnt the word for it...
Amazingly we fixed it and off it went....
I will post my best couple of pictures up this week.

Nice to meet a couple more members, .nice guys..

couple of pictures from my day:-

Hi all.

Firstly a big thanks to Lee for going from lying in bed to lying on the ground to remove a front sump guard to bring along for me.It was a bargain for me at 15 quid but i'm sure Lee didnt have much of that left by the time we left McD's laugh laugh laugh

Next thanks to Nev for routing us thru a interesting collection of pleasant scenery, vinyl scrapingly narrow lanes, mud and few 'adrenalin' moments.And....more thanks to Nev and Roadrottie for picking up the bits of the Pajero so we didnt litter the country side with Japanese plastic  laugh

Enjoyed being the kinetic rope guinea pig-try doing that with anything else and a trip to A & E would be guaranteed.

Nice to met some cool new people and fair play to Lee for Panters UP and Roadrottie for DOWN with no power steer/brakes!. Shocked laugh

I'll sort a video and let u know when its done.

Till the next adventure.........
