well what a great days fun in the sun
we started our day at mcdonalds
where we met up with tin basher and chunkster
we had our breakfast and waited for the other 2 landrovers to turn up ( new members )   Shocked Shocked
i guess one of then or even both broke down as neither of them showed up    laugh laugh

we decided to crack on as the sun was out and we wanted to get the trucks dirty

simon was my driver today as i left my car at home to bask in the sun   laugh laugh
no washing for me today   Grin Grin Grin

we covered many lanes today from all over the place
the good thing is with a smaller group you can cover much more ground
so we continued as we did on our last trip out with the more exciting lanes that devon has to offer

im sure everyone enjoyed the lanes today as there were smiles from everyone

here is simon my driver for the day

one for shaun   laugh laugh
a real minter

we headed for home at a reasonable time as chunkster had the kids on board
which needed to be fed , watered , washed & polished for an early night ready for school tomorrow
we all were traveling back down the A38 when tin basher peeled off
less that a few hundred yards further simon said is chunksters tyre flat   Shocked
i replied yes mate but only on the bottom   laugh
we got on the blower to chunkster and asked if the car handled ok
we decided to pull over and check it out
as we both slowed down chunkster was on the brakes  Shocked
well we did not even reach the slip way
the tyre was proper naffed  Sad
we got the truck up onto the pavement so that chunkster could get the recovery crew out of the car
yes he got the mrs out  laugh
she had the truck jacked up in no time whilst we all looked on
then took the spare wheel off and well basically did the whole job    laugh laugh

myself simon and chunkster talked about what we were getting for our evening meal
whilst the jack got packed away
ready for our slow journey back to plymouth shire to where we could whip the tyre off the rim

well the tyre was well and truly shot
it must have just rubbed against a rock at some point throughout the day and gave way on our journey home

as its been said many times before
we always come home from a day out at a sensible speed as you just dont know if any damage has been done due to the stuff we drive over

today was a prime example of driving at a sensible speed as it all happened so quickly
good job simon spotted it and the quick reply to chunkster on the cb
which slowed the speed down emmediately

this could have turned into a nightmare if we were going any faster
well done to everyone for a good bit of teamwork from all

especially myself and simon for the conversation regarding our evening meal
whilst waiting for chunksters mrs to change the spare wheel

 laugh laugh laugh laugh

look at this bad boy

dont trample on those flowers love   laugh laugh

thats nice dear   Grin Grin

out the way now let me put the spare wheel back on as we dont want it to do as the sticker says    parts may fall off   Shocked Shocked

i must say today has very very entertaining indeed
big thanks to all that turned up today
till the next adventure

firstly i would like to say thank you to lee for helping sort out our flat Tyre with a quick change at the garage. cut in the side wall  Angry which must of happened in the last lane but not cut all the way through Huh?  and let go as we were doing 55mph down the A38 good job Simon noticed it following us. good job we had mrs chunks to the rescue! to change the wheel in quick time! and people say a woman don't know how to change a wheel!

but apart from all that drama we had a excellent day out in some lanes which i haven't done for a while. our new set of tyres done us proud first trip out didn't even get stuck! first for us. only downside is now we have to get another new Tyre!  Angry

pictures to follow in the week.

thanks once again lee. cant wait till the next time out in the mud!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Really good day mate, as always amazing knowledge of the lanes. Shocked

I must say I was impressed with the speed that Mrs Chunks changed that tyre, she should be in the F1 pits!

I'll get my photos up later but good pictures there Lee. Smiley

not happy   Sad

here we have simon trying to unwrap his saw blade

or is he trying to play a tune   laugh laugh

all cleared for others to use now   Wink Wink

after reaching to top we decided just as well drive back down it   Grin

what a great days fun in the sun once again big thanks to those that did show up

most unfortunate that 2 didnt

which is a shame as we turned others down as the list was full

hopefully everyone will now realise what a pain it is when people dont turn up

especially when other could attend

till the next adventure
