Oooooooh, what a day.....
great fun...but some important lessons learned! here goes:-
shovel, good idea.
tools, could have saved £15 in fuel from using 4 wheel drive all the time.
Lunch, food is important.
Tyres, need new rears to give me a bit more grip.
passengers, They are great! showed me a new trick with 4x4 drive stick..Dont do it when driving! as i broke it!
Winch, so need to think about it, would have been useful.
Choices,- big one this, regardless of who your with its your choice to do it...or not, some lanes are slightly aggressive on the truck so entry at own risk but you do have to give them a try!
Ropes, i carry two..as of nest week it will be 4, and then one will be a kinetic as it took 20mins to get me out today.
heres some picture i managed to obtain as i was bouncing around today....
tea break....

Shhh, dont tell the bloke in the picture, but the gate opens the other way! Oh dear, even asked for help to undo the know on the rope, that was around the hinges....

strange as it may have been someone up above advising us not to do that lane, as the next picture shows:-

some mega Towing, lots of tugging and i finally moved! i was proper deep!

The new Brown alloys seemed more streamline than the black ones.....

the route of my inability to disengage 4 wheel drive, was down to the selector mechanism..there's a strange spring that stops the shaft from flopping around....it had bounced onto the top of the selector links, between the push down to select mechanism..
Cleaned it out, greased it up and then put it back together...working lovely now!

I had a great day today....found it tiring, but Super surf in the passenger seat was great, some of the 'tour guide' treats were amazing....i know where the 'windmill' is...id never noticed it before!
so....im off to play next week...and i can wait...looking forward to it..
im rather enjoying this 4 x 4 lark!
oh, forgot to mention.....the heaters worked well today too.....especially as it snowed!
