Hi Everybody Fitted a 2 inch body lift today took a couple of hours in the rain but well worth it . Not as simple as people make out , had to make sure the brake lines had plenty of free play as you have to jack up the body quiet a lot to get the new blocks in place plus the fan cowling has to be adjusted . plenty of room now for bigger tyres Just need to get bumpers raised now

i hope you dont mind me asking but whats the reason for the body lift mate as the diffs and running gear are all still the same height from the floor so ive never seen the point in it to be honest every modification has it pros and consby lifting the body obviously you have raised the centre of gravity when driving on a slanthigher to get through tighter gapsmore chance of roof and spoiler damagethe rock sliders will now still sit the same height from the floor as beforeinstead of tightly fitted to the sillsthe bumpers will have to be raised which will in turn leave a 2 inch gap between the bumper and the front gaurdyou will now need to buy some longer legs to be able to get into the vehicle the pros are

Hi Mate No I don't mind you asking I understand about the roof height thing but we have been out with some trucks much taller than mine and they all managed to get around with no major issues . I see a lot of pajeros that have been lifted and I like the look of them plus now in time I can fit bigger tyres ,maybe some 33-12.50-15 this will give a little lift all round giving more diff height . I have looked at the pros and cons of it all and done a bit of looking around at other trucks etc ,this wont be my only pajero so just having a bit of fun with it ,saw a couple of v6 pajeros going cheap the other day and was temped to sell mine to get one of those . will have to grow a bit as its quiet a climb into it now

be interested to park next to this and see height difference and how it go's through the lanes, as been contemplating a +2" suspension kit as mine is all on last legs.

a + 2 suspension lift is a whole different ball game they 2 have pros and consagain the height can cause problemswhen the suspension is dramatically lifted you have a knock on effect the drive shafts cv joints wear badly start to knock and click like mad the car can have a lot of roll when on the road going round cornersit can be a very expensive jobthe pros are ? a lot of other clubs have done suspension lifts and roof crates ect ect this suits there terrain with vast open spaces the trucks just dont get damaged like ours you dont see many jacked up mitsubishis doing the lanes we go down regulary personally i think the trucks are best left standard for our terrain as some of us have been driving these trucks for years they go most places on there own or in certain lanes a winching hand is welcomed why mess with a perfect truck

just for a bit more clearance like your v6's have, as have grounded out a few times but i guess a winch will solve that issue and a supply of underbody guards from you

to be honest mattt once you get rid of the front bumper for a more suitable one with more clearance your wheels wont keep scrubbing on it also your suspension could probably do with a slight tweek as you do smack it around a bit then it will drive a little better it must be a bit annoying when the tyres keep rubbing on the bumper might be worth trimming the edges off the bumper until you get the new one fitted

No worries mate , get some more pictures up if i get home before dark tomorrow. just having a bit of fun with it , it wont be the last pajero i get so see how it goes with the lift and may do it on the next one but only time will tell . V6 next ,seen a few with all the toys added so save money on trying to do it yourself , saw one with winch , big rubber , new cam belt etc all for £1500 .

Dare I suggest that if you want a taller vehicle you could buy a Land Rover!! My experience is that going away from stock causes things to start breaking!!! Of course that could be down to all the cheap aftermarket parts I buy Suspension lifts are easy on Land Rovers because they have beam axles. Doesn't lifting the front of a Missy-bitsy put the steering geometry out?

Hello For information my V6 does not have the raised body mounts so not all V6's have this. I have height adjustable suspension, rear hydraulic lift and torsion bar winders, which raises the vehicle 2" at the flick of a switch. When travelling from lane to lane if I go over 30mph it automatically returns to the standard position. Most of the time I forget to switch it back on,I havent noticed it makes much difference. The biggest con here,in my opinion, is the rocksliders-surely they now need to be raised so they are not stressing the weld points at the chassis when they are 'in action'. ? Plastic bumpers dont put up much of a fight against a jigsaw Height wise it probably is still shorter than Lee's shoggie, but that has roof rails and added reinforcing to the windscreen pillars, you may need to look a bit more carefully at overhead obstacles as roof/pillars/screen damage aint a cheap repair. all that being said it looks great ! The lanes will always be the test...
