sunday 1st february 2015 the armchairlaners 5th birthday tour

what a great day

we started at the lord louis pub for our hearty breakfast

 

a truly awesome breakfast it was today

we went outside to set up metal mouth lees cb radio and have a catch up

whilst we waited for spoonboy to arrive

i even caught grendle doing his yearly full service

well top up the oil level



todays line up





a few flooded lanes









we set off across a farmers field to where i found myself starting to loose traction  

it was proper wet

so we diverted back to the track as not to chew up the field and returned back the way we came    

even grendle found he had lost traction

and believe me when a G wagen with 3 diff locks isnt moving you just know its to wet



we were soon at lopwell dam where the tide was right out

excellent timing  









dean was the navigator / gate opener for today

















we cant have a birthday tour without a sponge bob cake  







plenty of happy faces with the cake























oh no it would appear that i have taken off my bumper end cap  



lee has done the same



spoonboy also as he didnt want to feel left out  



oh my god



the snow has now started to fall  







what a great days fun

Indeed what a great birthday 


With the moors n tors looking lovely and white ...it was snow chasing....game on !



Its over there.....



No sheep today ? Out on sledges somewhere i bet 



Seemed to be some weird forces acting on use today ...trying to stop us reaching the snow...Grendle got attacked by strange green goop and it won.





We went up and down and up and up and down again..





and a bit more up..



We crossed many borders on our quest for snow..



There it is ...



no its that way..



Our leader powered the mighty Shogun into the distance after it but in vain



We ran from the bright light






This rusty roof tried to jump to our cars to stop us......The Mitsi's were fine though   



Strange alien cows tried to 'mind melt' us...dont look at their eyes



Still blue sky followed us..



Finally..nearly... caught up ...it was getting dark 




Did we catch it ...did we? well...just about..

Snow really makes anywhere look pretty so it was great to see some in the end....even if the 'beautiful winter scenery' we sought turned out to be a BP petrol station....

We had a cracking day today. didnt break anything which is good, means no massive repairs to do in 2 weeks.  
load of cracking lanes today. didnt get stuck. unlike 1 cetain member which did a couple of times naming no names grendle!  
but all in all we all had a cracking day loads of laughs and fun had by all. banter was on top form today!
we got over 90 photos today so i have only choose a selection
