we started the day at mcdonalds where we found this little monkey

im sure he has escaped from the zoo

here he is acting sensible

whats that on your boots mate
he said its my arows to show which boot goes on each foot   laugh laugh

off we went in the cornwood direction
lane 1 of the day
i was showing vit boy how easy the shogun purrs up the lane at just over tickover
when we got 10 feet from the end we went into the rutt that was there from a few weeks ago
when we heard an all mighty bang  Shocked Shocked

i had lost drive from the rear and the diff light went out
i winched myself up over the last ten feet

i then tried to drive it in 2 wheel drive
with no joy
so had to put it into 4 wheel drive to get it off the road

we had catostrophic axle failure  Shocked
the shogun is broken
we are awaiting the assistance of the AA
for a swift recovery home to change vehicles   Grin

well after waiting for 5 hours for the AA to come with a recovery truck to put the car onto
we decided to strip the axle off the car to investigate the huge bang
which i thought was a shaft giving way

here we have the car being loaded to the recovery truck

all in a days fun

well not a bad day with a grand total of one lane done as a complete group, and one as a part group, getting damage on both Cheesy  Grin  Grin

The line up to start

they were racing to get to cornwood

this matches lees zuki

as we hit the first lane

why this look of worry

ah that explains it

who is he pulling now?

oh what a surprise its me!!!

something is definately broke!

the AA confirmed it

whilst we waited for AA, we went for lane 2,  fathead found a branch and drove home with a cracking view  Grin Grin Grin Grin

little man enjoyed himself

and on the way home took a nap

it may have been a short day, but was very entertaining, we had 1 bust axle, 1 broke screen and a bent lower arm and even dean suffered with a lost mud flap !!!  laugh  laugh

see you next time out  Wink Wink Wink

i stripped the rear axle down last night to find this

so first thing this morning i was up early haveing mcdonalds
the thinkers food   Wink
when i remembered where there was a v6 in a scrapyard
so i was there when they opened
to get my new bits

i then popped round to see farmer and dave down at m.a.n
when farmer said i have to go out on road test ill pick the axle up for you if you want  ?
yes please   Grin Grin
so off we went to get it

this is what i have to put up with on a daily bassis   laugh laugh

i got the axle complete as it was easier to take of rather than in bits and pieces
so i gave it a quick jet wash off

left it in the doorway to dry off

a big thanks to farmer for picking up the axle for me   Wink Wink
a special delivery of your usual
will be on its way over tomorrow

got the axle back on now

all connected back up
got my original brake calipers back on
new brake shoes
cleaned up the discs
just need to make some new brake pipes tomorrow as these are slightly rusty
