What a great day out
plenty of laughs along the way

we started at the pub for our favourite breakfast

soon we were in the first lane
jimny bob , spoonboy  and  dave the tool man
decided to head up cornwood
myself and the others drove round firstly to make sure that the lane wasnt blocked by the horse lady
also to get some pictures of them driving up  Grin Grin
it was very wet
we decided to trim some branches whilst we waited for the others to come through the undergrowth

it didnt take long before they were in sight   Grin Grin
my truck was in line with the lane
the winch cable was out ready to pull the first of the three up the last bit if needed

jimny bob said over the cb radio get out the way i dont need a winch  Shocked Shocked
so we moved out the way for jimny bob in the mighty jimny   laugh laugh

he got closer and closer then hit a tree smashing the windscreen and the pillar   Shocked Shocked
yes the jimny had stopped
jimny bob then manouvered the vehicle back into a better place to winch it out
very kind of him i thought   laugh laugh

spoonboy was the next to come up and he was slipping into the hedge
but managed to get the pajero all the way up after a few goes
he really does love a challenge  Grin Grin

dave the tool man was the last one up with the shogun and the rear diff lock was activated and he made it all look so easy
which is remarkable as for the rest of the day he just went downhill   laugh laugh

we soon moved on to the next set of lanes where we stopped to repair the jimnys roof as it was flapping in the wind   Shocked
tin basher thought it was time to get out the cloth and polish the sides so that jimny bob could deploy the gaffa tape  laugh laugh
gaffa tape made to fix your cars
dont leave home without it   laugh laugh laugh

we did not manage as many lanes as we thought to day but each one had its own obstackles
all which made for a great day out and some good team work
a cracking day out with sunshine

jimny bob said he had a shovel   Shocked Shocked

did he steal it from a umpa lumpa   laugh laugh

grendle was todays gate opener

we had to stop as tin basher was showing us how to wax on wax off   laugh laugh

a quick repair to the hood    Shocked Shocked

we needed to move a log

also someone had tried to get this boulder into the middle of the lane   Sad Sad

but it was ok we lifted it

then croc and rob dug out a pit behind it

we then settled it back down into the pit to make it harder for anyone to drag it out again   Grin Grin Grin

a great bit of team effort

dave decided to drop the shogun into the ditch    Shocked Shocked

obviously he forgot to use his booster seat today

and could not see over the steering wheel   laugh laugh

shouldnt you be on the edges like this dave

if nothing else it was very entertaining

we saw these

the latest stealth rims for a landrover      laugh laugh
no need for any paint as they come rust ready

we came across a mercedes ml with road tyres stuck in a lane

the camber of the lane with wet gloopy mud made it a challenge for the defender to pull on its own

we connected a winch cable just to pull it to the topside of the lane

then jimny bob went to deploy the waffle boards to help the stranded mercedes

dave took a tumble down the bank

as he wasnt getting enough attention   laugh laugh

hopefully someone got a few pictures

the word is already out as i have been taking bookings only this very morning for the performing acrobatic umpa lumpa

the theatre royal wants to see the act a.s.a.p   laugh laugh

we were all ready for our birthday cake as its the armchairlaners 4th birthday today

and you just have to have a traditional sponge bob cake to feed the troops   laugh laugh

jimny bob had a slight shake on the steering   Shocked

after a quick look and a few bashed with the hammer all was well and we continued our journey homeward bound

big thanks to all that came today

what a laugh

till the next adventure

 Grin Grin Grin

Well even with the damage to my truck, I have to say that has been the best day out so far.

Maybe I might have needed that winch! angel

Thanks all for a good day out  Cheesy

Hi all

Wow what a great birthday ! My good lady Sam came out for her first day of laning....she loved it !

First time in Cornwood Lane for me...

So I sat patiently and watch the fun....and the poor Jimny take a battering from the trees.. oh dear  Shocked

hurrah I made it through ! No winching, no rear difflock with just a small dent on my roof Cheesy Another quality lane of my list Grin

I dont think any of us would have made it thru without Ethan's Earthworks Ltd...top job !

Sam loved this scratchy lane and spent most of the time with fingers firmly in ears....umm 'fingernail on a blackboard' ..nice she said

Oh no Dave has fallen into a hole  laugh

Unable to undo his seat belt... Dave sat patiently waiting at 45 degrees, Luke on the other hand bolted out the window sharpish laugh

At this point Croc's thought were about 'clean pants' after nearly doing a forward roll down this drop  Shocked

Risk assessment done and two Mitsi's were used as an anchor whilst rescueing the ML.Safety first...then 'Jester hat' laugh

Dave gave his hat a stern talking to after it over balanced him and he rolled down the hill  laugh laugh

Spongebob was delicious

There always one kid at the birthday that has to play in the mud  Roll Eyes...and get stuck

Croc created a tsunami

The poor Jimny had taken a real beating but the lights were all good.

The usually thanks goes out to Lee and his navigator/gate monkey for the day, Grendle.

What a great adventure-great lanes.people,laughs and cake.

what a fantastic day, full of Laughs and giggles. It was definitely an entertaining day with Jimmy Bob not needing a winch, Dave ditching the truck and then rolling in brambles just to prove how 'ard' he is. I tried to stand the truck on end, thankfully I hit a tree. And a  a merc on road tyres in a sloppy slopey lane, not a good combination.  Will upload pics tomorrow when I get I. Work due to a lack of decent laptop.  Grin

Big thanks to lee and grendle for leading, to all that came. But most thanks have to go to Dave for the laughs he provided throughout  Wink Wink Wink

until next time .......  Grin

OK so agreed to rough it in the Paj.......sorry Shogun. Was supposed to navigate but was feeling rough and looking at the map made me a tad quesy...or was that Lees music selection anything from ABBA to Frankie Goes To Hollywood Wink Wink Wink

As you can see Lee doesn't let the grass grow beneath his feet

First Lane we waited at the Top in vain as the winch wasn't needed

 Undecided Undecided

Lee inspires confidence, he can drive these lanes with his eyes closed Cool Cool

However this does mean he can't see the branches that are going to hit him in the face

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

I had a great day in with Lee even though my good ear was facing him and there is literally no noise in the Shogun at all to drown him out. I haven't laughed so much for a long time...I think Dave was definitely the star of the day. When he rolled down the bank I was torn between concern and taking a photo. Medical background won Undecided Undecided

I will post the rest of my pics later as I have a new PC and windows 8 is driving me bonkers!
