sunday 23rd march 2014 smokey day out

what a great days fun yet again

we seemed to have gone all over the place today

with some great lanes , some very scienic lanes and even some water crossings

all in all a great day out

we are now back on summer time laning days which mean meeting at a promp 0800 at the macdonalds site for breakfast

but i guess grendle woke up late as we did not see him till at least 0830  

once he had got his morning tea

we headed out to the car park to see the others



grendle has his landrover magazine in his car today for some light entertainment when things go wrong



which im sure wont take to long with 2 landrovers in our group today  

here is grendle sipping ones tea  



come on grendle we are late for meeting chunkster in cornwall shire  



grendle said its ok hes probrably broken down and not at the meeting point yet  

then stood there laughing  



we were soon on our way so that sean my driver for the day in the landrover disco

could activate the cruise control  



i have no idea why sean carries this bent nail around with him

as he has a few parked up at home  







here he is hard at work



whilst i had a relaxing day being driven round like mrs daisy  































sean was showing me the electric sunroof









i think sean was a little heavy footed as we saw the tyre were smoking  





















oh no whats wrong  



this doesnt look right  



never the spring has fallen out  






but its ok we had the correct tools for the job  



first one needs to jack the vehicle up so the axle can drop down



hi lift jacks can be a little unstable so with a few holding the vehicle in place

the work started

with a little adjustment  



chunkster is such a messy lad





farmer was washing his hands after he had a sandwich from the back of the snack van  







































never now chunksters other side spring has fallen out  



out with the jack again  





this time we took no chances

we used landrovers best friend and zip tied the springs in place



we came across this fallen tree  







farmer and sean were going for it



flinging them logs round like match sticks



they were unstoppable  

within minutes they cleared all this  



they only stopped because seans chainsaw ran out of petrol  





we had to deploy the recovery crew to put the rope into the yes you got it landrover  





















farmer came along side us and asked

have you seen the boys from liskeard  



ooops







now its proper broke  



i went to see kar.mate new bucket seat  

even he has been secretly reading a landrover magazine  

what is the world coming to  





we got round the corner to see this bloke on his massive tractor

it was an amazing day out again. had a couple of slight issues rear spring fell out.  but a little help from my friends we were all moving again.

before muchlarnic we thought it would be a good idea to secure the springs from falling out with cable ties which worked a treat!  amazing things cable ties. 

i hope everyone had a great day. we shore did. 

we were in the darkest depths of beyond doing a couple of lanes which were good!

a great set of cornwall lanes once again. some old favourites.

got stuck as usual it is a land rover at the end of the day.  but my modifications are slowly improving the truck. good grippe tyres would help a lot!

A good day out with a pick of lanes from all over!  As usual spirits were high and there was no shortage of things to laugh at!





We were late meeting Chunkster because Grendle was tired and couldn’t get up after he went to a Englebert Humperdinck tribute concert!

What’s this Grendle is a secret Land Rover enthusiast!!!!  He was well away with his first edition Landy newspaper!!!!









What an advert for reliability!!!  Two Land Rover’s running at the same time!!!

we ended our day down at lopwell dam

where we went over and back a couple of times to wash off some of todays mud
