I havent had a chance to start a write up out on our disco. As you all know the disco has the horror storys about rust issues which are true. as you will see from the photos
But we needed a truck biggest enough for our family to enjoy our laning days out.

It has a couple mods which are

2 inch lift kit
extended brake hoses
cranked arms
fully poly bushed all round.
unrated steering bars
snorkel
bash gaurds
mud tyres
rock sliders
full service
cam belt kit and aux belt replaced.
full axle,gearbox,transfer box, breather kit
full wading kit fitted
cb radio
twin batterys

havent got many photo forgot to take them. will do from now on!  Wink

It has a had a bit done.

it has these nice bits on it. what a different they make.

our wheel bearing went on the A30 so mrs chunks got right to it.!!!

even mrs chunkster getting her hands dirty  Grin Grin

here is all the photos of the mot work needed.

The next mod on the list is twin battery and twin alternators ready for our new winch.  Wink Wink Wink

It has indeed mate still things to do. but every truck normally starts as standard form. thats the challenge i feel with every truck is getting it set up to how you drive and your style. and what work for the vehicle you choose.

look what mrs chunks got me for my birthday.

A shinny new winch for our disco and will be fitted as soon as i get a chance.

Lee we will be coming to you for a winch tray soon.  Wink Wink

Mrs chunks is very good to me.

Hopefully picking up a sythetic rope this week. as i dont want to use the steel cable i got with it.

I have fitted my second battery but i have got to take some pics to put them on here.

I have found the wonders of the photobucket app for my phone so they will be plenty more pics.  Wink Wink

Here is our second battery dont look much. fits perfect like it was ment to be there. it helps as my alternator is charging at about 15 volts so the extra battery helps store the extra juice. normally a alternator should charge at about 14.00 to 14.20 volts.

And got it installed ready for the winch.

second battery

original battery location

On second photo you can see the extra big red wire that is linked to the second battery.

Our winch will ran of second battery so i dont load normal battery up.

I will also be fitting a master kill switch in the truck so i can kill the winch if any problems happen when using winch as a safety precaution.

Pod is now fitted to the dash and also fitted a solenoid for the winch.

What the solenoid will do is when i turn the switch inside the truck it will send a current to the solenid which will then let the winch have power. also a safety if anything goes wrong when winching.

here is the solenoid nice and simple. i will also have a back up if the solenoid goes wrong!
