sunday 26th december 2015 boxing day bash

well we met at a later than usual time today



as we had a new member who wanted to join us for the day

tom in his landrover discovery



we decided to meet at mcdonalds today for a change

tom turned up eventually

then we tried to fix his cb radio which just did not want to work  

eventually we gave up as time was ticking on and it was now 0945



so off we go and into the first of many lanes







one of my favourite lanes

but not so favourite for tom as his disco decided to fall apart

his headlamp was trying to abandon ship  





the recovery crew steven and finley walked down the lane to get the winch rope

andrew decided that he would play it safe and winch up

that way he could try his new winch out  







what better car to pull off a big disco

the recovery crew got right onto it securing the rope to the back of the landrover



we were soon at the top of the lane where it was time for me to have a brew

out came the time of chocolate for everyone to help themselves



tom tried to fit the light back into the bent and twisted panel  





enough was enough he opted for the landrover fixing kit

a bag of zip ties  



he even started to count them to make sure he had enough for the job in hand



then he started to weave the zip ties around the headlamp to make it better than new



a few taps with his hand and job done



better than new



oh no whats this we have now found the wing has popped off  

no bother out with the hammer for another quick fix



we are off again































we actually stopped for dinner without anything breaking on the landrover

tom jumped out with his full on roast dinner  

i kid you not





whilst we had lunch we were amazed how many zip ties it took to hold the wiper arm on  



we cracked onwards









im not to sure what andrew hit driving down this nice flat lane

perhaps he knocked the hyper drive button

i just cant see what he hit to cause all this damage



a few more lanes whilst we had some light













never









we pulled into the ptrol station for some refreshments and out came mr wong

with his wishey washey rag and glass cleaner  



i was sure i had seen tom somewhere before

i think he works down at sainsburys car park washing the cars  

tom parted ways as he had to be somewhere

we carried on a helped out a chap with a pucture and not a big enough jack to lift the car up

so andrew tried his new jack  

we then made our way back to wash our cars

wheres tom when you need him  





well what a great days fun

all my landrover joke were used today but like water off a ducks back

tom was not bothered in the slightest

Well what a fantastic way to spend Boxing Day
Good old Mcdonald's at Marshmills
Soon as Tom arrived off the 3 of us went for a fun filled day out
On 2 occasions using my new winch and Tom breaking down and Lee's wise Landrover joke's
Also Stephen and Finley helping with the winching made it a brilliant day out
Roll on the next day out

Was a good day out lee. Not sure why you drove round then reversed down devils rather than just climb it...
